Powers/Abilities: General Armbruster possess strategic abilities and is experienced with various military weapons.

Origin: Colonel Armbruster, an experienced Air Force officer, was brought in to help break free General Ross when he was captured by the Russians. He stayed on to help battle the Hulk.

GREAT MOMENTS IN HISTORY

The Incredible Hulk #164: After General Ross is captured by Russian Super-Soldiers, Nick Fury is brought in to make a plan to rescue him. After making the plan, Fury is shocked when the government decides to bring in Colonel Armbruster to oversee the operation. Colonel Armbruster comes in and greets everybody and lets Major Talbot volunteer to go on the mission.

The Incredible Hulk #165: Colonel Armbruster thanks Fury for training him and his men in commando tactics. Colonel Armbruster, Major Talbot, and the rest of the men board a jet to leave for the mission.

The Incredible Hulk #166: The jet flies over the outbacks of Russian and Colonel Armbruster and his men parachute out and make their way to the outskirts of the city where General Ross is being held. Colonel Armbruster refuses to not use his pipe, which he considers his trademark. They sneak into the prison and break General Ross out. During the escape, Major Talbot is shot and is left behind.

The Incredible Hulk #167: Colonel Armbruster and General Ross return home in civilian clothes so not to create a big military scene. After landing, Armbruster leads General Ross to a room to reunite with Betty. After Betty freaks out when she hears that Major Talbot, her husband, is dead and Armbruster catches her as she faints.

The Incredible Hulk #168: Colonel Armbruster and General Ross are called to the Pentagon. During a meeting, General Ross is shocked to hear that he has been relieved of his current duty and Colonel Armbruster is now in charge of Project:Greenskin whose purpose is to capture and destroy the Hulk.

The Incredible Hulk #171: Colonel Armbruster, Betty Ross, and a stowaway Hulk land at Hulkbuster Base and find that the base is empty. A soldier reports to Armbruster that equipment has been sabotaged also. Suddenly, the Rhino and the Abomination fire on the plane next to Armbruster and then fires on Armbruster and the soldiers. The Rhino and the Abomination capture Armbruster and the soldiers. Jim Wilson sneaks onto the base and talks to Armbruster in his cell and eventually frees them. After the Hulk defeats the Rhino and the Abomination, General Ross tries to make peace with the Hulk when suddenly Colonel Armbruster sneaks up from behind and captures the Hulk.

The Incredible Hulk #172:

The Incredible Hulk #174: Colonel Armbruster, in a rescue helicopter, picks up Bruce Banner and some other survivors of a boat that was sunk by the Cobalt Man near Australia. Later, when the Cobalt Man starts to run amok in Australia, Colonel Armbruster takes control of the Australian armed forces given that he has experience dealing with super-powered beings.

The Incredible Hulk #179: Colonel Armbruster, General Ross, and Betty Ross wait in a room for Major Talbot to return after he had recently escaped from the Russians. Armbruster shakes Major Talbot's hand and then later notices that his electronic watch was busted.

The Incredible Hulk #180: Colonel Armbruster informs General Ross and Major Talbot that the President will be visiting to congratulate Major Talbot for escaping. When General Ross suggests that Talbot rest awhile before letting the President visit, Talbot throws a fit. Armbruster thinks to himself that something is wrong with Major Talbot.

The Incredible Hulk #182: Colonel Armbruster instructs his men to find out exactly what is wrong with Major Talbot before the President arrives because he knows something just isn't right with him.

The Incredible Hulk #183: Colonel Armbruster overlooks as his men use a mobile scanner to examine the sleeping Major Talbot.

The Incredible Hulk #184: Bruce Banner walks into Hulkbuster Base and into a room with Major Talbot, General Ross, Betty Ross, and Colonel Armbruster when suddenly Colonel Armbruster pulls out a gun and shots Bruce.

The Incredible Hulk #185: Bruce Banner is in a cell with chains because Colonel Armbruster actually shot Bruce with a tranqualizer gun. Later, Armbruster checks in on his soldier who was doing the testing on Major Talbot. He finds the man shot dead and his notes burned. Determined to see what the results were, he messes with the equipment until he gets a print-out. He looks over the data and then just runs out of the lab. He runs into where General Ross, Betty, and Major Talbot are with the President. Armbruster jumps and grabs Talbot, taking them both into a pit saying to Talbot that he knows the Russians planted an organic bomb inside him. Then, Talbot explodes, killing him and Armbruster. Armbruster sacraficed himself to save the President.
