GREAT MOMENTS IN HISTORY

The Incredible Hulk #1: After getting caught for being a spy, Igor secret messages back to Russia about the Hulk creature he has seen. Russian military leaders get the message but keep passing the responsibility as to who has to deliver it to the Gargoyle because of the way he looks and the fear they have for him. The last person finally slips it under his door. The Gargoyle reads the report and decides he must go destroy this Hulk creature or capture him and bring him back as a sign of his power. He calls for his craft to be made ready to departure. He comes over in a rocket and the rocket is destroyed by the Americans but not before the Gargoyle escapes to safety. The Gargoyle stumbles across the Hulk and Rick Jones and fires a gun at each that causes them to fall under the Gargoyle's control. The Gargoyle takes them back to a submarine and from there a ship back to Russia. Along the way, the sun sets, causing the Hulk to revert back to Bruce Banner. The Gargoyle recognizes Doctor Banner and after he gets them locked away, he breaks down and says how he hates being a freak. Bruce offers to help try to find a way to reverse what happened to him but warned that it would take away his advanced intellect. The Gargoyle said that he didn't care even if it killed him as slong as he died a man. Bruce quickly discovers a way to reverse the effects. In return, the now human Gargoyle creates a distaction as Bruce and Rick escape in the jet. When the Russian soldiers come in to look for the prisoners, they don't recognize the Gargoyle anymore but he flips a switch and causes the base to explode so that nobody can go after Bruce and Rick.
