a briefcase up just in time as the blast from the gun hits the briefcase

over the side of the road and Jim just barely manages to jump out.

General Ross and the others, who are being held captive in a room.

him when the thug tells him that he placed a tracer on Jim before
he escaped. Jim takes various routes to make sure no one is following
him and then goes to a phone booth. He asks the operator for all
types of variations of Robert Bruce Banner until he finally manages
to track Bruce down. Jim tells Bruce he needs his help and gives
the address he is at but is then cut-off. The Contrictor uses his
coils and breaks the phone booth. He tells Jim that he is there
to kill him because Jim has been causing problems for his employer
on the West Coast. Jim manages to run off a little but is eventually
caught by the Constrictor. The Contrictor puts Jim in a car and
starts to drive away when Bruce, who tracked Jim to the address
he gave him over the phone, turns into the Hulk and stops the car.
He recognizes Jim in the car and pulls him free. He sets Jim down
and starts to fight the Constrictor. When the Constrictor manages

someone in it. Jim jumps on the person who they assume is a thief.
They find out it is Kropotkin the Great, a magician who used to
to be the tenant of the room Bruce is staying at but skipped out
on paying the rent. April comes
in and wants to throw Kropotkin out but ends up getting into an
argument with Bruce, who can feel the change starting to occur.

nerves a little over who is living in her building. Suddenly a man
arrives and tells Bruce he has to turn himself into the authorities.
Bruce of course refuses and the two men scuffle. The man reveals
himself to be Sting-Ray and when he tries to get a blast at Bruce,
Jim jumps in the way and gets hit. Bruce sees it and turns into
the Hulk immediately and attacks Sting-Ray. The Hulk defeats Sting-Ray
and right before he hits him one last time, Jim tells the Hulk that
he is okay. The Hulk tells Jim that he will make sure Sting-Ray
will not hurt him again. Jim tells the Hulk not to kill Sting-Ray
because that will make things worse. Hulk is tired of hearing people
tell him not to do anything so he gets mad and jumps away. Jim goes
down to see if Sting-Ray is okay.

to himself if it will ever be safe to go back to LA. Jim looks at
the map and tells Kropotkin that they are nearing Lynneburg but
Kropotkin had a run-in with the law there so he decides to take
a detour.
The Incredible Hulk #226: While waiting for
Kropotkin to finish eating his clamburger in their van at a roadside
restaurant in New Mexico, Jim overhears a Hulk alert from a police
car parked next to them. As the police car speeds off, Jim turns
on the police band in the van and hears where the Hulk is heading
so they head off in that direction also. Jim arrives on the site
of Desert State University where the Hulk is confronting one of
Bruce's old professors. Jim runs up and tells the Hulk not to hurt
the man. The Hulk, still feeling betrayed from before, grabs Jim
and lifts him up. The professor tries to help Jim and the Hulk swats
him away whereas the professor feels his chest hurting. Jim asks
the Hulk if he is proud for hurting an old man. The Hulk drops Jim
and stomps away.
The Incredible Hulk #227: Jim goes to Gamma
Base and observes while Doc Samson tries to use psychiatry on the
Hulk.
The Incredible Hulk #228: Jim watches as Doc
Samson puts the Hulk through some physical tests. The Hulk causes
the whole test lab to come crashing down and when the Hulk digs
himself out, he starts to threaten Doc Samson that if Jim is hurt,
Doc Samson will pay. Jim thinks quick and tells the Hulk was a great
job he did on the test. Later, Jim sits by the Hulk who is laying
in a bed, and tells him he needs to get some sleep. Jim laughs as
he leaves the room talking about how few warm beds the Hulk has
been in. The Hulk sets off an alarm as he walks around the base
at night and Jim along with everyone else rush to see what has happened.

The Incredible Hulk #231: Jim bursts into a
meeting to tell Doc Samson where the Hulk has been spotted. A visiting
Senator asks what kind of security they have if a kid can come crashing
in. Doc Samson tells the Senator that without Jims help, they might
not be able to calm the Hulk down. Another Senator offers to fly
Jim to California in his airplane to get Jim to the Hulk and also
to view the Hulk first hand. On the airplane, Jim is a little nervous
and tells the Senator that he is not looking forward to seeing some
folks in California. The Senator tells Jim the Corporation takes
care of its own and hits Jim with knock-out gas. The Senator reveals
to Dr. Sofen that he is a member of the illegal group known as the
Corporation as is she.
Captain America #230: The Senator takes the
now conscious but tied up Jim to another member of the Corporation
and offers to trade Jim to him in return for a dead Captain America.
The other Corporation member has been looking for Jim Wilson for
a long time and was the one who sicked the Constrictor on him. A
fight ensues and when Bruce turns into the Hulk, Jim yells for help.
During the fighting, there is some confusion and the Hulk starts
to fight Captain America and Jim tries to get the Hulk to stop.
The Incredible Hulk #232: Jim can't believe
that the Senator is trying to trade him for the life of Captain
America. When Moonstone shoots a blast at Captain America and he
falls into some water, the Senator laughs so Jim kicks him even
though he is tied up. The Senator backhands Jim in the face. Later,

when he flies into Los Angeles. Jim thanks Rick for volunteering
to play music for a fundraising event to help with the house Jim
runs for people with AIDS. Rick asks Jim why he wanted the Hulk
there also and Jim tells him there have been some death threats.
Rick remarks that Jim is not dying with him there. Jim says at least
not this year and reveals to Rick that he is HIV positive and has
got AIDS. Jim takes Rick back to the house he runs and introduces
him to one of the people staying there, Tyler. In his office, Jim
tells Rick that Tyler's dad is a big mob boss and has already tried
to send people to kill Tyler's companion but his uncle, the Falcon,
was there to help. Tyler's father might send more people, so that's
why the Hulk is there. Rick asks Jim why he never told him before
that he was HIV positive and asks him how he can be so relaxed knowing
he is going to die. Jim replies that he is not going to stop living
until he stops living. Jim tells Rick that his girlfriend left as
soon as she heard what he had. At the concert, everything is going
fine until Speedfreek shows up to
kill Tyler's companion. Jim tries to stop him and Speedfreek
stabs him in the chest. Rick goes to see about Jim but is hesitant
to touch him since Jim was bloody from the wound and Rick was worried
about AIDS. After defeating Speedfreek,
the Hulk comes and asks Rick why he is just standing there in front
of the obviously wounded Jim. Rick tells the Hulk that Jim is HIV
positive. The Hulk, knowing that the disease will not affect him
due to his immune system, grabs Jim and jumps off to take him to
a hospital.
The Incredible Hulk #420: Jim is at an AIDS
rally late at night when someone hits him over the head from behind
and causes a riot between two groups. The Hulk arrives and tells
Jim that he has had his people at the Mount watching him and knew
he was in trouble and notified the Hulk. The Hulk picks up the bleeding
Jim and then turns to ask who hurt him. Everybody in the crowd runs
away screaming. The Hulk takes him back to the Mount to get cared
for where the doctor informs the Hulk that not only is Jim HIV positive
but he has full blown AIDS and is close to dying. The Hulk asks
the doctor if they can try and experimental drug on Jim to try and
help him but the doctor refuses since it has not been approved for
humans yet. Jim wakes up and asks the Hulk if he has any miracles
for him. The Hulk mentions the drug but says that they can not use
it on humans yet. Jim gets a little mad. Jim then asks the Hulk
for a blood transfusion to save him and reminds him when he gave
a transfusion to his cousin. Knowing that previous transfusion let
to the creation of the She-Hulk, the Hulk asks Jim not to ask that
of him but Jim says he is begging him. Later, the doctor and the
Hulk come back and hook a blood bag up to Jim for a transfusion.
The Hulk asks Jim why he didn't tell Rick before that he had AIDS
besides HIV positive. Jim didn't think Rick could handle it. The
Hulk reminds Jim that the transfusion is a longshot. The Hulk and
Jim talk and the Hulk makes Jim laugh but then Jim starts to cough
up blood. Jim, obviously very weak, tells the Hulk he can already
feel it working. He than asks the Hulk if he can talk to the doctor
in private for a minute. He thinks that the blood being transfused
into him is not the Hulk's and he asks the doctor to confirm this
and she does. Jim tells the doctor he knows why the Hulk didn't
want to give him his blood and never should have asked him. He then
asks the doctor not to tell the Hulk that he knew. The Hulk walks
back in and Jim says that he is going to jump out of the bed any
minute but is going to take a quick rest first and then Jim passes
away.
