GREAT MOMENTS IN HISTORY

The Rampaging Hulk #2: Bruce returns to Desert State University located in Navapo, New Mexico, to visit his undergraduate physics mentor, Professor Gregory Crawford, to see if his old professor can help cure him. Bruce had heard that the professor was ill but is surprised to see him in a wheelchair. Professor Crawford takes it in stride and says he will continue working as long as his mind is active. He tells Bruce that he has been on his mind since the news spread that Bruce Banner was really the Hulk. Bruce is about to excuse himself for interupting Professor Crawford but the professor tells Bruce to stay and see what he has been working on. The professor hands Bruce an apple and tells him to put it into a pod. The professor activates the pod and the apple disappears and reappears into a second pod in the room. He explains to Bruce that the primary pod converts the matter into energy and transmits it into the receptor pod and restores it to original form. Professor Crawford tells Bruce that he has just thought of a way to use the pods to cure Bruce of being the Hulk. Bruce gets into the first pod where Bruce's gamma-irradiated body is scanned. The idea is to compare Bruce's body to a normal person's and transport Bruce from one pod to the other, filtering out the radiation. Professor Crawford mentions to Bruce that as the Hulk, he is the healthiest person alive. Getting late, Crawford offers Bruce his guest room to stay the night. Later that night, Crawford quietly gets up and leaves the house, driving to the lab. He sets the equipment to automatic and crawls into the first pod. Unbeknownst to him, Bruce woke up and figured Crawford went to the lab so he goes there to see what he is doing. Bruce is surprised to see Crawford in the pod and even more suprosed when he realizes that he has reprogrammed the system to reconfigure his genetic structure to match Bruce's. Bruce asks him why and Crawford explains that with Bruce's DNA, he will be able to fight the disease. Bruce tries to explain that it could make things worse, but Crawford doesn't see how things could get worse for him than they already are. Bruce does not want any more Hulks in the world so he tries to stop the program but Crawford has locked him out. Bruce gets upset and starts to turn into the Hulk but it is too late as Crawford is transported and burst out of the second pod, a gamma-powered creature like the Hulk, with the Hulk's strength but still retaining his intelligence. He starts a fight with the Hulk for Bruce trying to stop the process. Crawford labels himself Ravage during the battle and punches the Hulk, snapping his neck and causing him to go unconscious..

The Rampaging Hulk #3: Brucwe wakes up in the morning, with the Hulk's rapid healing having healed the broken neck. He finds Professor Crawford laying on the ground, still affected by his disease. Bruce explains to Crawford how when he first became the Hulk, the sun made him turn back to human form. Bruce says they have to act quickly to reverse the process but Crawford enjoyed the power too much and doesn't want to be cured. They start to argue more when they hear General Ross and Major Talbot at the door. Bruce hides in the basement but Crawford betrays Bruce and is captured by Ross and Talbot. As Bruce is taken away, Crawford is trying to figure out how to be Ravage all the time. Later that night, word of a green creature destroying the local town hits the base and General Ross asks Bruce for help. Ravage, drunk with power, is just destroying everything in his way. The military trys to stop Ravage but he gets away easily. Bruce takes Ross to the lab and shows him Crawford's equipment and tells Ross that they have to wait until Crawford returns to human form and force him into the pods and change him back to normal. Just then, Ravage breaks in through the roof. Ravage destroys the equipment so that they can not be used against him and then tells Bruce he used a set of prototype pods hidden away to make the change to Ravage permanent. Bruce breaks under the pressure and turns into the Hulk. The Hulk and Ravage fight through the lab and Ross tries to escape before hetting in the way. As the building collapses around Ravage, the Hulk grabs Ross and escapes. As Ravage breaks free from the debris, the military manages to get there and freezes Ravage in a cryo-ray and the Hulk escapes. Ross orders Talbot to get the frozen Ravage back to the lab for study.
