Synopsis: Bruce wakes up from a dream of a hulking green creature
fighting another creature and of a dead woman and an older man in
uniform. He wakes up in bed, goes to the bathroom and walks downstairs
to find Betty making coffee. Bruce is confused and asks if she is
supposed to be there. Betty says that it is Saturday and asks if he
is feeling well. His "life" starts to come back to him and their two
girls and dog run into the room. The girls give him a hug and then
Betty reminds Bruce that he is supposed to be somewhere. Cut to Bruce
fishing out on the lake with his father, both getting along perfectly.
Bruce tells his dad about a dream he keeps having about a green creature
that chases him. Bruce's father says that dreams are opposites and
have to do with anxiety. Bruce pulls in a large fish and his dad mentions
that he must have sold his soul to the devil to get that one. Bruce,
visibly disturbed by something, just mumbles "yeah.' That night, Bruce
has more dreams about the green creature and death and destruction.
He wakes up and goes to the bathroom for a drink of water when he
sees the Devil Hulk's reflection in the mirror saying "all you ever
wanted, Bruce. And more." Bruce turns the lights on but doesn't see
anything. Later that day, Bruce and Betty are sitting on the couch
together when Bruce brings up his dreams. The phone rings and Betty
asks him not to answer it. Bruce does and a voice asks him what day
it is. Bruce responds Saturday and the voice asks him how many Saturdays
that makes in a row and that what year it even is. The voice says
that he has been looking for Bruce for a long time. He mentions that
the Professor wandered off to look in the subconscious but never came
back. He tells Bruce that he is at the Crossroads Hotel and that his
life is not real. Later on, Bruce is playing golf with General Ross,
his father, and another person and won yet again. Bruce mentions that
he doesn't think he even plays golf. He goes through his perfect life
for more days until he finally decides to go to the hotel to meet
the person on the other line. Rick Jones, Doc Samson, and Angela are
at the rather shoddy looking hotel. He goes up to the room and meets
the Joe Fixit persona who is nothering but bones sitting in a chair
in a room.
