Cut to the Hulk having coffee with the Thing at the Fantastic Four headquarters when the two of them naturally get into an argument. The She-Hulk breaks it up and she and Angela Lipscombe try to hold a conversation. Reed Richards pops in and says that he has looked over what the Leader theorized as to the cure for Bruce's ALS disease where the transformations back to Bruce jump-starts the alterations and it can be cured with gene therapy. Reed had already mapped out the voyage. Ant-Man is there so that he can shrink down and manually fix the corrupted DNA. The Hulk asks Doc Samson what Bruce will think when he finds out where they got the source for the cure. To help protect Ant-Man against being attacked by the Hulk's antibodies, Reed gives him a gun of of enzymes to fight them off. Reed will put a constant supply of antigen into the Hulk to help distract the antibodies. Ant-man shrinks down and is injected into the Hulk. Angela tells Doc Samson that she is worried that if Bruce makes it through the operation, that he might have a breakdown once he realizes how they got the cure. Ant-Man tries to make incisions while in the Hulk's body to get to where he needs to go but the walls heal up too quickly and this causes the antibodies to notice Ant-man. After they start to attack him, Ant-man freaks out and grows a little large, causing damage in the Hulk's body and causing the Hulk pain. Inside the mind of the Hulk, everything is going crazy around Bruce. The image of the Leader appears and begs Bruce to help him. He's afraid of what he has found on the other side. When Bruce turns to talk to him, he has disappeared. Ant-man manages to calm himself and Reed increases the pressure of the cerebro spinal fluid so that the incisions take longer to heal. Ant-man finally makes it to the and replaces the corrupt cells in Bruce's nucleus with healthy ones. Ant-man asks where they got the healthy replacement parts from and Reed says they extracted them from Bruce's father. Later, now cured of the disease, Bruce goes to his father's grave. He tells his father that he has hated him his entire life and now he finds out that he was instrumental in his cure. So along with his dead father helping cure him, and everyone close to him dead, Bruce just doesn't know how to feel. And he walks away from the grave.
