The King's Lieutenant, Caiera, looks into the holding box and is amazed to see the Silver Surfer and mentions he looks like the son of Sakaarson. She asks him where he came from but he doesn't answer at first so she tells the guard to shock him through his Obedience disk. He tells a shortened story on how he became the Silver Surfer and was then lured into the Portal. He awoke, weakened, and was fitted with the control disk and was forced to fight in battles and also mentions that he hates them.

The next day, the triple drums call which means it is a public holiday for everyone to go to the arena. Slaves are preparing the arena for battle when one of them notices that a vine is growing from where the Hulk's blood had landed before. In the crowd, people are holding up posters of the Hulk and chanting "Green Scar." Hulk and his remaining crew are lead into the arena and annouced one by one as the announcer wonders if they will earn their freedom today or die trying.

In the Emperor's Palace, his scientists have started to analyze the Hulk's shuttle and tell the King how the Hulk's friends tricked him onto the shuttle. The King is not paying attention as he wants to be at the arena being the one who kills the Hulk but his advisor reminds him that if the King killed the Hulk, it would just make the Hulk a hero, not the monster he is.

At the arena, the Hulk is very surprised to see the Silver Surfer, annouced as the Silver Savage, step out in battle gear, including his surfboard as a shield. The Hulk tells Hiroim how the Silver is a friend but the Surfer suddenly attacks the Hulk. The Hulk tells the Surfer that he thought the Surfer was different. The Surfer asks for forgiveness and then hits the Hulk across the arena. The other Warbound attack the Surfer next but none can hit him. The Hulk and Hiroim plan a strategy where Hiroim attacks high allowing the Hulk to come in and shove a spear into the Surfer's Obedience disk, destroying it. The Surfer is surprised to find himself free and thanks the Hulk but the Hulk pounds the Surfer and continues to pound on him as the crowd at first cheers and then gets silent as the Hulk continues to beat up the defeated Surfer. Korg comes over and stops the Hulk and tells him they have won. Korg than addresses the people and yells that they have survived three rounds in the arena and they should be free now. Caiera tells the Red King that it is over but he replys that it is not.

Caiera walks into the arena, followed by guards and three hooded people. She tells them that since the Hulk slashed the Red King's face, they must now pass a loyalty test before they are free. The three pull back their hoods, revealing one to be Elloe. The Hulk treats it as a joke but then Caiera tells Primus to activate the Hulk's Obedience Disk to make him do it and the Hulk fights against the disk, causing large amounts of pain. Elloe figures she is finished so she asks what happened to Skee. Hiroim tells her that he died well in battle and that they are Warbound over him. Given that they are Warbound with Skee, who served Elloe, they can not fight her. Caiera recognizes Hiroim as Hiroim the Shamed. Regardless, he nor the others will not fight Elloe. Primus doesn't care and shocks all of the Warbound. While they are all in pain, suddenly their obedience disks shattter along with all the disks of the people in the arena. Everyone turns to see the Silver Surfer having used his cosmic power to free everyone. Miek asks what they should do now and the Hulk replies they should tear the place down. The Hulk and crew tear a hole in the arena wall and escape along with a number of other people into the woods. The Surfer explains to the Hulk how the Portal weakened him and that he must return to the stars. He asks the Hulk if he wants to go with him but the Hulk says when he was on earth, he did want to escape the planet but not now. The Surfer flies off away, while the Hulk leads the Warbound and other escapes into the Twisted Forest to freedom. Back at the wrecked arena, more plants are growing from the Hulk's blood.
