General Ross blew her off so she did the best she could just to tick him off. She says that she is a big fan of Bettys because she has more guts than most people. She asks Betty for her help and getting the Hulk to surrender after he gets out of the case. Betty asks if she is free to go and walks out. The Hulk busts out and fights the army and then leaves with Janis.

The Incredible Hulk #448: Colonel St. Lawrence is at the Pentagon to discuss the Pantheon tracking down the Hulk. She says that military intelligence knows that the Hulk worked with the Pantheon and that the whole thing smells like a set-up. Paris says that the Hulk turned on them and that they will turn over the Hulk alive or dead. St. Lawrence wants to be there when they do it but Paris doesn't want to let her because they can't guarantee her safety. On the way home, Matt Talbot jumps in front of her car. She lets him in and he warns her to stop tracking the Hulk, it destroyed his uncle and him and it will eventually destroy her also. St. Lawrence tells him to get out. She comes home to find Paris sitting on her couch, drinking. He turns on the tv to show her the Pantheon attacking the Hulk and Janis. During the battle, a white flash goes off and blinds St. Lawrence. When she can see again, she sees the Hulk's dead body on the screen. The Pantheon cloned a brainless Hulk and killed it and managed to trick St. Lawrence.

The Incredible Hulk #449: St. Lawrence is talking with Peter Gyrich, a government liason, about the Hulk's ultimatum, namely that if anybody attacks him there will be severe retaliation. Gyrich says the Hulk can't get away with it and St. Lawrence is ready to try and capture him. A nearby fort houses St. Lawrence and her team. One of them tells her that the equipment siphoning off gamma radiation from the Hulk is working. Right before St. Lawrence tells a strikeforce to move in, once of the scientists notices something strange. They figured that by siphoning off the gamma radiation, the Hulk would revert to Bruce Banner but the readings show that the Hulk is only gamma radiation (they didn't know that the Bruce Banner persona was actually in another universe). The Hulk eventually breaks free and attacks the base. He confronts St. Lawrence who just gives her name and serial number. He threatens a scientist who spills his guts about why they were there. The Hulk says he just wants something that's his. He sees a scientist holding keys, laughs and then flies off. St. Lawrence mentions that she didn't like the sound of what she just heard.

They argue about what to do with someone actually suggesting they nuke the island. St. Lawrence gets on a helicopter to go see if she can negotiate with the Hulk but the flight is grounded at the last minute due to a storm. St. Lawrence finally gets clearance and the pilot tells her about the Hulk helping to build sea walls to save the people. St. Lawrence wonders why he would do that. Just then she sees the alternative-universe Hulk leaping through the sky towards the island and gets confused.

St. Lawrence, shaken, sends the troops after him. The Hulk starts to destroy buildings and says he just wants to be left alone. St. Lawrence walks up and just says "cut the crap" and tells the Hulk that if he really wanted to be left alone, he could have found a place somewhere on Earth where he would never meet anther person. She says that he needs the hunt and the violence and that he needs to prove that he is the strongest one there is.
