This healing power is not at a level even close to the Hulk's.

GREAT MOMENTS IN HISTORY

Tales to Astonish #90: Emil sneaks around Gamma Base, a spy undercover as a soldier, and stumbles upon Bruce's Gamma Ray Machine. He takes pictures of it to sell and hides just as Bruce comes in. Bruce preps the machine to change himself into the Hulk but soldiers find him and drag him away before he can finish the process. Emil sneaks out of the shadows when everyone is gone, figuring that given how smart Bruce is, whatever he was going to do must have been important. He steps in front of the machine and activiates it, changing him into the Abomination. The Abomination smashes the machine so that no one else can duplicate the process. He starts to tear apart the base, causing Bruce to turn into the Hulk and the two of them to fight. Due to the fact that Emil was exposed to a higher dose of gamma radiation than Bruce, he is stronger and manages to knock the Hulk unconscious. The Abomination grabs Betty and jumps away.

The Hulk accepts his condition as a slave for now considering he can not get off the ship. One night, while the Hulk was gazing at the stars from aboard the ship, the Abomination knocks him over into space. Xeron manages to save the Hulk with one of his harpoons. Later, the Hulk reverts back to Bruce. When a battle with Klaatu starts, Bruce goes into a space boat and the boat turns over, sending Bruce into space. The Abomination grabs Bruce in the confusion. The Shulk grabs the telepath and makes him show her how to use the time machine and they go back in time and land in the same spot as the other people. The cops draw their guns on her. Meanwhile, down in the sewers, the Abomination yells at his people, wondering why they keep trying to go up to the surface even though the people up there don't want them. He grabs a pole and jumps at the Abomination.

The Abomination in the present ties up the visitors just as the Shulk makes it to the sewers saying that she is there to assasinate the "Betty." The Abomination says that the girl is under his protection and that the Shulk will do nothing but answer his questions. In the future, the Abomination, now exhibiting robotic features, destroys the time machine saying that the past is dead and to just let it fade away. He chases the Angel through the sewers, with Marrow following both of them. The Angel hides and right before the Abomination finds him, Marrow distracts him and causes the Abomination to chase her. He catches her, saying that she belongs in the sewers with him. The Angel comes up and tells the Abomination to let Marrow go. The Angel and the Abomination fight with the Abomination easily defeating the Angel. Right before he kills the Angel, Marrow throws two bones at the Abomination's eyes. Ross fires and hits the Abomination right below the eye, which infuriates him. The Abomination recognizes General Ross and he admits to him that he killed Betty.

The Incredible Hulk #442: Ross can't bring himself to shot as the Abomination steps forward and hits his gun away. He tells General Ross about his rage-filled relationship with the Hulk over the years. He related how he suffered humiliation and rejection and Betty married the Hulk and accepted him. He tells Ross how when Betty lie sick from radiation poisoning, he switched a bag of his blood tainted with deadly chemicals for the fresh blood that was supposed to be given to Betty, which helped kill her. He just wanted the Hulk and General Ross to feel the pain that he has. Just then, the Hulk reappears and hits the Abomination. The Hulk, who now knows who killed his wife, prepares to attack the Abomination when General Ross tells them to stop. The Abomination says that he will have his revenge and satisfaction. The Hulk looks around at all the artillery which has surrounded them and decides not to do anything. When he tells the Abomination he will not fight him, the Abomination jumps off, still ranting.

The Incredible Hulk #24: The Abomination, wrapped from head to toe, looks out the window while one of the students he is teaching in a writing class at a local library reads his story. The students don't know who he is but think that he has some type of skin cancer. He tells the student to stop and that he needs to write about something he understands. He then relates to his class the story of Emil (basically the history of the Abomination with a slight spin on it). He tells how Emil left his wife behind as he went to another country to steal their magic as a sense of duty to his country. The magic, though, turned him into a monster and he could never go home. His enemy is the magician (the Hulk) who created the magic that turned him into the monster, the man who stole his life from him. His wife thinks him dead and he realizes he has lost everything. To make his enemy feel how he does, he kills his enemy's wife (Betty). His enemy forgives him knowing that is the one thing Emil can not endure. Emil is totally without purpose and sleeps at the bottom of the sea each night, hoping that his life is actually a dream. His students ask if the story ends with Emil seeing his wife again and the Abomination says no and that "happy endings are for lazy writers." Elsewhere, Doc Samson is reading Bruce's letter when Bruce asks Samson why he lied to him about he being the merged Hulk when all along it was another persona. Samson says that he didn't have a choice because the savage Hulk was close to being loose and that he expected the real Bruce to regain control. Bruce accepts his apology. Bruce then talks about the Abomination killing Betty and that it was the Professor persona that forgave the Hulk, not him. He was never given a chance to accept Betty's death and he thinks about her a lot. The Abomination calls Nadia, his wife, at her dance class but doesn't say anything, just like he has done numerous times. He then walks away in the rain. The Abomination stands before a lake and thinks to himself about a letter to Nadia, which he will never send. The letter states how he wish he could explain to her why he has left her think he was dead all these years, how telling her now would ruin her life, and how he wishes he could see her just one more time as his nights are long and lonely. He slowly walks into the water, to sleep another night. Ross takes Bruce to a base and tells him how they have been tracking the Abomination and how he is teaching a writing class. Ross then takes Bruce and shows him Betty's preserved body. Bruce starts to freak out a little bit and his heart races. Ross says that it isn't his fault, that Emil took her away from them. Bruce first says he can't but then he welcomes the change as he turns into the Hulk. He jumps out of the base, in search of the Abomination to "smash" him. Ross goes to the body of Betty and restates his promise to make the person who did this to her pay.

The Incredible Hulk #25:Bruce sits on the ground in the pouring rain, thinking about how he just saw Betty's lifeless body and how the Abomination had something to do with her death. Bruce hears the Professor and Joe Fixit give their opinions. It switches to inside Bruce's mind where the Professor tries to convince Bruce to forgive the the Abomination. The Professor says that he is worried about Bruce's mind fracturing again. Bruce just gets angry and turns into the Savage Hulk. Out in the real world, the Hulk jumps away. The Abomination, disguised, tells his class that he regrets that he must move on due to circumstances. He leaves them some poetry he wrote especially for them. The government plant in the class calls up General Ross and tells him that the Abomination is going to leave. Ross tells the agent to trail the Abominationbut at a safe distance since "backup" will be arriving shortly. Ross looks at a scene where he is tracking the movement of the Hulk. The Abomination wakes up from his sleep in the lake as the Hulk jumps down and lands on him. The two start to fight as the Abomination wonders what took him so long to come after him. The Abomination figures that Bruce turning into the Savage Hulk will just make it easier for him to defeat him. General Ross watches the fight from the safety of a helicopter. The Abomination says that he was always the Hulk's superior in strength and tenacity. When the Abomination causes the Hulk to bleed, the Hulk gets mad and jumps at the Abomination, causing both to land in the lake. Doc Samson and Angela see news about the Hulk on tv. The Abomination has the Hulk in a chokehold underwater until the Hulk pushes them through a dam wall, flooding the town below. Luckily General Ross had had the townspeople evacuated. The Abomination climbs out of the water, thinking he has won, when the Hulk jumps out and starts the fight again. When the Abomination starts to mention Betty, the Hulk loses it and starts to pound on him. The Hulk refuses to accept Bettys' death as he continues to beat the Abomination. When the Abomination tells the Hulk to finish it and put them both out of their misery, the Hulk changes back into Bruce. The army arrives and Bruce tells Ross that he was used by him. Ross just says he did what he had to do to get his daughter's killer. Later, Bruce goes to where they are keeping the captive Abomination. They are using the same equipment that Ryker used on the Hulk which rendered him helpless. Bruce tells the Abomination that this is his last goodbye. The Abomination tells Bruce that he can do nothing more to hurt him. Bruce tells him about how the government spied on him when he was still back in Russia. Bruce shows a tape of the once-human Abomination talking to his wife about a trip he was going to go on (to spy on Bruce at the Gamma Base, but you already knew that, right?) where his wife says that she will always love him. The Abomination begs Bruce to turn it off but Bruce just says that it is on an endless loop and that he will have to watch it for the rest of his life. The Abomination begs for mercy but Bruce just walks away

The Incredible Hulk #50: Agents S-2 and S-3 use a gas and knock everyone unconscious at a secret military base in New Mexico. They go into the room in the base where the Hulk is still restrained, forced to watch the tapes. AGent S-3 shoots a dart inot the unconscious Abomination and then wake him up. They offer the Abomination a chance for freedom but then tell him they just implanted an explosive device and that if he tries to remove it, it will explode. The Abomination doesn't give a response so they show him pictures of Bruce Banner and the Hulk, saying they want him. Agent S-3 explains how all other attempts to capture the Hulk have failed and that if he helps them capture the Hulk, they will set him free and also remove the Hulk. The Abomination just starts to laugh, causing the whole building to shake. The two agents run out of the building. The agents come back later with a new DVD showing the Abomination's wife actually working near the base. And then they show Bruce Banner sleeping with her. This drives the Abomination over the edge, causing the building to start to crumble and sets himself free.

The Incredible Hulk #51:Agent S-3 tells the Abomination that if he helps then destroy the Hulk, they will take out the neck dart and reunite him with his wife Nadia, who she reminds is currently being intimate with Bruce Banner. Agent S-3 tells the Abomination that to show their intentions, she will release him from his magnetic bonds for a brief moment. As soon as she does, the Abomination reaches out and grabs her. Agent S-3 tells the Abomination that in order for the plan to work, he must stay at the base so he volunteerily goes back into the bonds.

The Incredible Hulk #52: Agent S-3 finalizes the deal with the Abomination telling him that they will arrange an earthquake cover story for what happens with him.

The Incredible Hulk #53: Agents S-2 and S-3 tell the Abomination where his wife is located at and that he must go to her since the Hulk will be with her. After he delivers the Hulk to them, they will remove the explosive dart. Unbeknownst to the Abomination, the same agency was telling Nadia that her time to kill her husband, the Abomination, was almost at hand. Agent S-3 double-crosses S-2 and the two start to fight. During the struggle, they accidently release the Abomination. The Abomination knocks the two agents out and leaves. The Abomination is shown walking through the desert and destroying a farm to get to the town. The Abomination tears up the town and sceams Nadia loudly at which point Nadia sneaks up behind him. The Abomination stands before Nadia and makes vague threats about hitting her. Nadia tells him that she knows about his agreement with the secret organization and that the organization made a deal with her also. She pulls out a detonator for the dart in his neck. Nadia points the detonator towards him and pushes the button but nothing happens and the Abomination starts laughing. Suddenly the Hulk appears on the scene.

The Incredible Hulk #54: The Abomination and Hulk face off against each other with the Abomination getting the first shot in. The Hulk starts bleeding as the Abomination hits him more as he talks about being locked up and having to watch old tape of his wife saying goodbye to him. Nadia comes up and tells him to stop it. As the Abomination continues to beat the Hulk, Nadia tells the Abomination that he knows what he did to Betty Ross. The Abomination throws the Hulk aside as Nadia asks what he was feeling all those times he was beating her when they were married. Nadia says that she was happy when she found out the Abomination was incarcerated and how she celebrated at which point the Abomination hits her. The Abomination starts to walk towards Nadia to discipline her more then the Hulk comes back and hits the Abomination right in the face. The Hulk starts to beat up the Abomination and tells him that he would love to snap his neck but in order to do that, he would have to let the Hulk take complete control and he doesn't want that to happen. The Abomination hits the Hulk with a bus at which point the Hulk turns back into Bruce Banner. The Abomination tells Bruce that he didn't believe all the stories the agents were telling him, he just came to kill the Hulk, that's it. The Abomination grabs Bruce and Bruce, still in control of the Hulk's strength in that form, surprises the Abomination and hits him. Bruce turns back into the Hulk and the two continue to fight. The Abomination starts to talk about Betty and the look in her eyes when he killed her. The Hulk lets loose and starts to really beat the Abomination. In the sky above, agents try to get a line on the Hulk to shoot him. Before they can do that, the Hulk lifts the limp body of the Abomination and throws it into the sky through the helicopter.
