Origin: Simon Utrecht was a successful and very rich businessman as
well as politician but he still craved more power. The only way he
saw to do that was to gain superhuman powers and he looked towards
the Fantastic Four for inspiriation. He hired Mike Steel to design
a ship able to reach space but without any type of shielding. Simon,
along with Mike, Ann Darnell, and Jimmy Darnell, took offin the ship
and purposely went through a cosmic storm in order to be exposed to
the same cosmis rays as the Fantastic Four.
GREAT MOMENTS IN HISTORY
The Incredible Hulk #254: The Hulk's boundless leaping brings
him to a factory used by Simon and his associates on their trip into
space. Having changed back, Bruce sees what the passengers arebeing
exposed to and reprograms the flight control to try and save them.
The ship comes crashing down and out of the wreckage comes the U-Foes.
Simon gets upset that Bruce, not knowing exactly who he is, brought
them down before they could absorb more cosmic rays and be come more
powerful. They all use their unique powers on Bruce and think they
kill him. Bruce turns into the Hulk and they battle. Unaccustomed
to their powers, the U-Foes end up getting in each others way. Finally,
the influx of cosmic rays takes it's toll and their powers start to
get out of control. Ironclad's mass increases so much that he sinks
into the earth. Vapor can't control her form and starts to dissipate.
X-ray gets poisoned by his own radiation and flys up into the sky.
Vector control his power and forces the very air out of his lungs
and he suffocates. His body is repelled against the earth and it shoots
off into the sky. The Hulk just wanders off.
The Incredible Hulk #274: While leaping across the desert,
the Hulk leaves a large crater. Ironclad crawls out, polished smooth
from being at the center of the earth.
The Incredible Hulk #275: Ironclad meets up with the rest of
the U-Foes at the old Utrcht factory.
The Incredible Hulk #276: While at Gamma Base, Bruce, Betty,
Rick and Bereet are ambushed by the U-Foes. Bruce is caught unaware
and gets beaten about by the U-Foes. The U-Foes are taken back when
they see Bruce turned into the Hulk and still have Bruce's mind present.
Bruce beats them around pretty well until X-ray hits the Hulk with
gamma negative rays, causing him to revert back to his human form
where upon Ironclad knock him unconscious. They carry the limp form
of Bruce off, determined to kill him in front of the world in order
to look like heroes. Bereet grabs some mechanical weapons, intent
on saving Bruce.
The Incredible Hulk #277: The U-Foes put Bruce on an energy
grid and constantly bombard him wiht gamma negative rays to prevent
him from turning into the Hulk. They televise to the world that they
are going to kill the Hulk. Vector deflects any means of detecting
and finding them at the abandoned base. They explain what happened
to them before when their powers went out of control. Xiray was finally
exposed to enough cosmic rays while in the upper atmosphere to gain
control of his powers. He then proceded to help the others gain control
of theirs by exposing them to the rays also. Bereet and her weapons
attack the U-Foes and keep them busy while another weapon frees Bruce.
Bruce then turns into the Hulk and makes short work of the U-Foes.
The Incredible Hulk #304: While being held in prison, the government
offers to let the U-Foes go free if they agree to have their powers
stripped. During the conservation, the null-field keeping their powers
in check is broken and the U-Foes get free. They take their chance
and make a break for it. Unfortunately, Vectoruses his powers a little
too much and delects them right our of reality. They find themselves
at the crossroads of eternity with the new mindless Hulk.
The Incredible Hulk #305: The U-Foes attack the Hulk and seem
to have the best of him until the Puffball Collective helps. With
the Collective's help, the Hulk tricks the U-Foes into going to different
reality planes where their powers well do them no good. X-ray gets
stuck on a planet with creatures that feed on radiation. Vapor gets
stuck on a planet with no atmosphere. Ironclad gets stuck on a planet
made of quicksand. Vector gets stuck on a planet where wind carries
debris around at all times, causing Vector to defend himself forever.
Avengers #304: Charles Little Sky was being chased by Puma,
who in turn was being chased by the Avengers, when his mutant powers
kicked in and he opened up a portal. Out of the portal came the U-Foes
from their imprisonment at the Crossroads of Infinity. Each U-Foe
had managed to escape their "prisons" the Hulk had trapped them in
and were just waiting at the Crossroads for some way home. Realizing
that the Avengers would imprison them again, the U-Foes attack. The
U-Foes also figure that Charles could send them back so them decided
to try to kill him. They all battle but eventually the U-Foes are
defeated.
Darkhawk #6: Charles Little Sky, now known as Portal, is in
the hospital when the U-Foes bust in to kidnap him. They want to force
him to use his powers to go back to a dimension at the Crossroads
which had some energy crystals they can use to gain power. Darkhawk,
along with Captain America and Daredevil manage to stop the U-Foes.
West Coast Avengers #53: X-Ray, Ironclad, and Vapor attack
the West Coast Avengers after seeing a falsified tape that showed
the West Coast Avengers killing Vector. The U-Foes hold their own
against the WC Avengers until Vector comes in. The other members of
U-Foe are shocked to see him. He explains that he was held up late
to their planned meeting after breaking out of the Vault and saw the
same fake tape as they did. They decide not to continue attacking
the WC Avengers since they are were only doing it out of revenge for
what they thought they did. Realizing they were played for fools,
they leave on their own accord.
The Incredible Hulk #397: The Hulk and other members of the
Pantheon return to their base to find it under attack from the U-Foes.
Vapor, X-ray, and Ironclad attack the Hulk and Pantheon while Vector
tries to make it to Agamemnon's stronghold. They manage to make it
to the stronghold and open the door. Just as the HUlk confronts them,
the Lead and his followers appear. He informs them that he hired the
U-Foes to get to the base so that he could have a meeting with Agamemnon.
The Incredible Hulk #398: The U-Foes and followers of the Leader
attack the Hulk while the Leader foes
off to have a discussion with Agamemnon. Due to the sheer number of
people, the Hulk is able to take advantage and get some good shots
in along with help of the Pantheon. At one point, Vector actually
deflects all the skin off the Hulk who then rejenevates it within
minutes. The fight is suddenly stopped with the Leader
and Agamemnon appear and say that they have reached "an accord."
The Incredible Hulk #399: The U-Foes appear briefly with the
Leader.
The Incredible Hulk #401: After the Leader
is defeated, the U-Foes are let out of their prison. They stumble
across the Hulk, who is not in a good mood. Ironclad attacks but gets
the crap beaten out of him. Knowing when a situation looks bad, Vector
just says they want to be left along and walk off.
Heroes For Hire #1: The U-Foes, disguised as SHIELD agents,
ambush agents at the Vault prison and let all the prisoners escape.
They let the Master, who they are working for, that the mission was
accomplished. The Master apparently saved the U-Foes from something
and they are repaying that debt. It did not say what he saved them
from. Later, they ambush the Hulk and manage to knock him out and
then placed a Controller disk on the back of his neck, placing him
under the Master's control. The U-Foes along with the Hulk take over
the United Nations Plaza where some of the worlds top scientists were
meeting. They use the Controller disks on the scientists and download
information for the Master. Iron Fist, White Tiger, and Hercules attack
the U-Foes. Iron Fist smashes the Controllers disk and along with
the now-free Hulk manage to take down the U-Foes. The U-Foes manage
to escape, though.
Heroes For Hire #2: While Luke Cage is watching a movie in
an abandones movie theater, the U-Foes attack and knock him out and
then transport him to the Masters hidden location.
