Powers/Abilities: The Wendigo has extremely superhuman strength and endurance. He has extremely sharp claws on each hand. He has very limited intelligence and acts mostly from instinct. GREAT MOMENTS IN HISTORY

The Incredible Hulk #162: While in the norhtern woods of Canada, the Hulk hears a voice in his head, calling himself Paul Cartier and asking for help. He doesn't understand where it comes from. Suddenly, people from the local town stumble across the Hulk and mistake him for the Wendigo and start firing at him. A woman runs up and hits the Hulk, demanding him to return her brother, Paul Cartier. The Hulk says he is not the Wendigo but that he will go find her brother. The Hulk walks through the woods and stumbles across the sleeping Wendigo. The Hulk tells the Wendigo to return Paul and the Wendigo just roars and attacks the Hulk. A man crawls out and begs the Hulk for help. He tells how the Wendigo has just been torturing him until he gets hungry. The Hulk and Wendigo fight each other (in fact, the Hulk mentions that the Wendigo is the strongest foe he has ever fought) until the Wendigo knocks the Hulk off a cliff. The Wendigo grabs the man and throws him off the cliff but the Hulk catches him. The Hulk takes the man to the town thinking he has saved Paul but the girl says that it is a friend of Paul's. The man tells how himself, Paul and another man were hunting in the woods when they were attacked by wolves. Trapped and wounded in a cave, Paul got hungry enough that he ate the flesh of their dead companion and turned into the Wendigo. The Hulk, still wanting to help the girl, returns to the woods to try and bring back the Wendigo so someone can help him. The Hulk finds him and Paul's voice once again asks the Hulk for help before his mind dissolves. THe voice begs the Hulk to defeat the Wendigo and get help. The Hulk and Wendigo fight and the Hulk manages to beat the Wendigo down but the voice of Paul says it is too late as his mind dissolves, only leaving the Wendigo. The Wendigo pushes the Hulk back and flees into the woods.

The Incredible Hulk #180: The Hulk is going through the Canadian woods when a voice calls his name and tells him to come. Marie Cartier uses arcane methods to call the Hulk while Georges Baptiste begs her to stop. Marie explains that she will use arcane methods to transfer the curse from her brother's body to the Hulk's. Georges is reluctant to help, but she reminds him that it was his idea to go on the hunting trip that led to Paul turning into the Wendigo. The Hulk makes it to the cave where Marie and Georges are located and Marie feeds him. She then uses the Vapors of Slumber to knock the Hulk out and puts him on the alter used for the process. Marie uses more potions to call the Wendigo to the cave also. The Hulk wakes up early and seeing the Wendigo, attacks him. The two creatures fight each other, blow for blow, until a new foe jumps into battle: Wolverine.

The Incredible Hulk #181: Wolverine jumps into the battle and attacks the Hulk first. Since his claws won't break the Hulk's skin, he goes after the Wendigo. Thinking that Wolverine is now his friend, he helps him in fighting the Wendigo and they manage to knock him out. Wolverine attacks the Hulk then and as they are fighting, Marie and Georges drag the unconscious Wendigo back to the cave and use the Vapors of Slumber to keep him knocked out. Georeges continues to beg her to change her mind. Marie uses a Spell of Subjagation and knocks the Hulk and Wolverine out. Marie tries to pull the Hulk back to the cave to start the transfer process but the Hulk turns back into Bruce Banner. Georges, not wanting to transfer the curse to an innocent man, runs away. He runs back into the cave, meaning to end this someway. Bruce turns back into the Hulk and as the Hulk and Wolverine continue to fight, Marie runs back to the cave where she is greated by the Wendigo. The Wendigo points into the cave where she sees her brother and she realizes Georges took the curse onto himself. Marie asks him why and he tells her that he did it because he loves her. The last bid of his mind dissolves and the Wendigo turns around and escapes into the forest. Marie, with everything that has occured to her, loses her mind.

The Incredible Hulk #272: Walter Langkowski, aka Sasquatch, tracks through the northern woods of Canada. While camping earlier, he heard screams and found a vehicle with all the occupants murdered. He recognized footprints in the snow as the Wendigo and he decided he had to stop it. Bruce Banner, who landed in the northern woods after being transported from space, stumbles upon a cabin. He goes in and finds three skeletons and when he tries to escape, he finds the Wendigo outside. THe Wendigo grabs him but before anything can happen, the Wendigo is pulled back. He looks to see Sasquatch holding back the Wendigo and Sasquatch tells him to run but then is distracted when he recognizes Bruce. Wendigo pulls loose and starts attacking Sasquatch. Bruce sees it happening and turns into the Hulk, except this time Bruce's mind is in control. A flashback shows how a group of four trappers were trapped in a cabin and after running out of food, Francois Lartigue kills his companions and eats them, thereby turning into the Wendigo. Sasquatch figures his Alpha Flight teammate can reverse the curse, but first they have to subdue him. The Hulk and Sasquatch work together and manage to knock the Wendigo unconscious.

Captain Marvel (Vol 3) #2: Marlo and another woman are tricked into going into the woods with Larry, who says he will direct them in a movie. When the Hulk stumbles onto their campsite, Captain Marvel comes flying in and the two start to fight. When the other woman goes to tell Larry what is happening, Larry kills her without a thought. Captain Marvel changes back into Rick Jones during the fight and surprises the Hulk as they are standing in a lake. Suddenly the Wendigo appears from under the water and grabs Rick.

Captain Marvel (Vol 3) #3: Marlo runs through the woods and comes across the body of the other woman and sees that someone has taken multiple bites out of her arm. Cut back to the Wendigo, who is holding Rick so that he can't change back to Captain Marvel. The Hulk tells the Wendigo to put Rick down and Rick says that the Wendigo won't understand anything. But then the Wendigo tells Rick to be quiet which surprises him. Wendigo says that the creature is a curse and anybody can manipulate a curse if given the right counterspells. Suddenly, Captain Marvel causes the bands to discharge energy and the Wendigo to release him. As the Hulk and Wendigo fight, Rick changes back into Captain Marvel who joins the fight against the beast. Elsewhere in the Northern Canadian woods, two hikers come across a man laughing that the curse is over. Marlo gets close to the fight and the Wendigo says hello to her and Marlo recognizes Larry. Larry/Wendigo tells how he studied the Wendigo curse for years and went to various mystical people to learn how to control the curse. Larry/Wendigo tries to convince the Hulk to join him instead of fighting him but the Hulk suckers him and throws him across the woods. Captain Marvel has a vision and sees Larry/Wendigo holding Marlo but then realizes it hasn't happened yet. The Hulk goes after Larry/Wendigo but reverts back into Bruce Banner. Larry/Wendigo jumps at him but Captain Marvel fires a blast at him just in time. Larry/Wendigo grabs Marlo and threatens to kill her unless Captain Marvel gives him his Negabands. Marlo decides to make Larry/Wendigo kill her so that Captain Marvel will not give up the bands. She pulls Larry's/Wendigo's earring out to make him mad and throws it into the water. Unknown to her though, the earring was the mystic talisman which allowed him to control the Wendigo. The curse reverts back to the person who it was taken from.
